One stormy night, Julie is babysitting the kids of the Williams family. After her boyfriend comes over, the two play with an improvised Ouija board to kill some time. The séance goes wrong and the hamster cage suddenly gets hit by a lightning. The two think it’s just a coincidence, but soon the hamsters turn from furry cuties into little demons from hell with a special taste for blood…

Full Plot:
As an introduction to the short film “Night of the Hell Hamsters” from 2006, we see a close up of hamsters hanging around in a cage. They are sniffing, scratching, running in a hamster wheel and just being their innocent, furry selves.

Then there is a scene of a girl in a dark alley, frantically screaming, when some people in scary rabbit fur suits attack her. Then a courageous man comes to save her, the camera zooms out and reveals that it’s just a movie running on a TV screen in a children’s room. The room is decorated with children’s drawings, the floor is littered with all kinds of toys and a hamster cage stands in a corner.

Full plot:
In “Ouija” from 2006, Adam, Mariam, Hany, Farida and Ibrahim go on a friendly trip not far outside of Cairo with a Ouija board packed in the trunk. Hany meets Sara on the beach. Farida and the emotive Mariam go first on the planchette. They ask the Ouija board whether a spirit is present. The Ouija board is affirmative but will not give away the name of the spirit. Ibrahim takes over for Mariam. Board spells “betrayal” – then “pain” – then “farewell” – then “con” – then “killer” – then the beginning of a name that Adam remembers bleakly from his past. Mariam henceforth starts drinking heavily.

Michelle is shocked and in tears upon hearing the news about the accident and her disfigured face, but the doctor assures her that the reconstructive surgery she’ll get will make her look like her old self in no time.

Lauren and her room mates stay at their dorm during Thanksgiving while all other students leave. Having nothing better to do than killing time, they conduct a séance to contact the ghost of a little girl Lauren keeps seeing. Accidentally, they summon the ghost of a maniacal serial killer instead and now it’s killing time!

Full plot:
Lauren, the main character of “Séance”, a bloody horror movie from 2006, is a college student who lives at the university dormitory “Chelsea Hall”, a former apartment complex. One night, when she and her two room mates Melina and Alison are asleep, she gets woken up by noises coming from the bathroom. She gets up to investigate and notices that the water is running and the shampoo bottles have been arranged in a circle on the bathroom floor.

She closes the water, pulls the shower curtain to the side and is met with a creepy sight: A little, pale girl who is letting out a silent scream. She throws Lauren to the ground and starts choking her. Lauren wakes up horrified, but realizes it was only a dream.

Situated in an abandoned industrial complex, six young people have gathered around a Ouija board, playing the “Spirit of the glass” game. Everything goes well until one of the participants dares to ask: “Vem är du?” or “Who are you?” – Setting free an evil and wicked spirit, and from then on, it only gets worse.

The protagonist of “Bunshinsaba”, a South Korean horror movie from 2004, is Yoo-jin, a girl from Seoul, South Korea. She and her blind mother move from their home town to a village and her social life instantly changes for the worse. Her new classmates are far from welcoming and instead immediately start picking on her. Yoo-jin decides to get together with two other girls, who have fallen victim to the bullying as well. The group decides to meet up at the school one night to hatch a plan of revenge.

They sit down next to a desk which is rumoured to have belonged to a girl called Kim In-sook, who got killed 30 years ago and is now haunted by her ghost. With the help of a Ouija board, the girls manage to put a curse on four of their cruelest bullies, by writing down their names on the board. While executing the „Bunshinsaba-curse“, Yoo-jin is warned to not open her eyes, before it is finalized, but she can’t help but take a peak.

Full Plot:
South Korean horror flick “Dead Friend” from 2004 starts with a scene showing Eon-jung and her two friends from high school meeting up to play with a Ouija board one night. Eon-jung chants an evocation while the planchette starts to shake. At the same time, her sister (Eon-seo), who sleeps in another room gets increasingly disturbed and eventually wakes up in a panic. The group conducting the séance asks the ghost what it wants and the planchette points towards „revenge“. The séance gets interrupted by an angry Eon-seo, who bursts into the room and scolds them over spending the night messing with the occult instead of studying for their SAT.

At that point Eon-jung admits that the shaking planchette was a prank and grumpily decides to go to bed, while jokingly exclaiming that she wishes that the ghost would take her annoying sister away. Just before bed, she remembers that interrupting a Ouija board session without sending the ghost back could let the ghost loose and free to haunt them, but she doesn’t take it serious enough and just goes to bed with her two friends. While the girls have turned their backs on the Ouija board, the viewer gets a glimpse of the planchette moving by itself, indicating that they have indeed conjured something up.

Derren Brown is a master illusionist who loves to set up elaborate plays to trick the mind into believing that’s it’s witnessing the paranormal. He is the host of many shows displaying his talent. In this particular episode he attempts to conduct a séance that leaves the participants terrified and wondering whether there might not be otherwordly forces involved after all.

Before the 2004 show “Derren Brown: Séance” begins, a disclaimer states that none of the participants are actors or stooges.

The location of this episode is Elton Hall, a former training center for medical students located in the middle of a busy street in London. It has been abandoned since 1983.

Derren invited 12 students to participate in the night’s events. All of them responded to advertisements placed around different universities and only those were chosen, who were open minded about the paranormal. They were not let in on any of the details in advance and only know that the goal of the evening is to attempt a séance.

The 2004 Philippine horror film “Spirit of the Glass” is about Kelly, a young woman who plans to spend the holidays in idyllic Boracay, but ends up on the country side, in an ancestral home of her family instead. She brings along her boyfriend Choppy, as well as her friends Myra, Cecille, Anton, Drue and her younger brother Aries with his buddy TJ. The group is bored out of their mind, as they are used to and prefer living in the city.

A little bit of exitement ensues when Aries finds a Ouija board. Having nothing better to do, they give it a try, ignoring the advice of Mang Anduy, the caretaker, to leave it be.

Their boredom instantly turns into fear when they unexpectedly manage to conjure up a spirit, who they immediately lose control over. A desperate quest to banish the ghost begins, but the group will not find peace before they shed light on the dark secret that haunts the spirit…
